YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Singer Laying Down More Tracks For New CORNERSTONE Album
April 21, 2006YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/ex-RAINBOW singer Doogie White has made his way back to Copenhagen, Denmark to record the vocals to two more tracks for the next CORNERSTONE album, tentatively titled "Two Tales and One Tomorrow", before returning to Miami to start rehearsals for MALMSTEEN's North American tour.
Commented Doogie: "Well, the way the year has shaped up so far going on tour will give me a bit of a hiatus from daily life. I knew having a few days with Steen [ex-ROYAL HUNT and current CORNERSTONE bassist Steen Mogensen] earlier in the year would result in the 'ideas' becoming songs and that is the case. We have two new ones and that is no bad thing really. Rune [Brink, keyboards] has contributed to the writing this time on one tune and its sounding great, different, but still in the CORNERSTONE framework. We also have to do the photo shoot for the album so it's gonna be a few crazy days or daze in Denmark. Then I am off 10 hours later to rehearse with Yngwie and the guys for the next leg of the 'Unleash the Fury' tour."
Songtitles set to appear on CORNERSTONE's follow-up to 2003's "Once Upon Our Yesterdays" (Massacre) include "Requiem", "Wicked" and "Two Tales and One Tomorrow".
As previously reported, CORNERSTONE have been confirmed for the Norwegian festival Ragnarock, set to take place place August 17-19, 2006. More information will be made available soon.
CORNERSTONE's live album, "Cornerstone In Concert", was released in July 2005 in Japan via Yamaha Communications and in Europe through Massacre Records. The CD was recorded at several shows on the group's debut tour of Europe in January/Febuary 2005. Included in the package is a video clip of live and backstage footage from the band's private archives.
